You see friends we have a mortal adversary who hates our souls and if he can't steal our salvation (and he can't), then he'll do everything he can to assault and hinder our holiness. So the point here is that we can expect temptations to come at us in the most unexpected ways — and that's why Jesus taught us to pray "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one." If some areas of our life are well-fortified with sanctified, Spirit-empowered obedience, then our enemy will flank us in some other area that we may not see coming – and it's different for every Christian, but if we don't keep our grace-armored spiritual guard up in every area of our lives, we are going to fall somehow. And when this happens, the church has a responsibility – not to judge or condemn, but to work to restore the fallen believer.
