We continue our grand tour of the hall of faith this morning. We will see how Noah survived the flood because of his faith in God's warning to him, and we will look at the first of several episodes of faithfulness in the life of Abraham, the father of faith and of the faithful. Remember, the writer is still telling us how not to fall away, how to flee from the all-too-real danger of jumping ship and shrinking back to destruction. He exhorted us not to do it, and now he shows us examples of faithful saints who stuck to what they believed even when all they held dear was threatened. The point is basically this: If Noah and Abraham could do it, so can you. Men of like passions with you walked in faith when their lives, their homes, their children, and their future were all on the line. Both Noah and Abraham were convinced of what they did not see; they acted based on their faith in the word of God, and you can and should too.
