Sometimes I think we lose sight of the 'amazingness' of God's grace in the forgiveness of our sin. We get enamored with doctrines of deep mystery like the sovereignty of God and why He allows suffering and evil. We debate predestination and free will, and we're way too obsessed with end-times prophecy. And I don't mean to imply that any of that is unimportant, but friends, it's not the timing of the rapture or understanding deep theological mysteries that will give you a place to lay your head down in peace tonight. It's the forgiveness of your sins--knowing that because you trust in Christ, you will never have to answer for all the terrible things you've thought, said, or done because Jesus has already answered for them in your place."
