So in order to understand better how God was working with Job in this particularly awful situation that he found himself in, Elihu is saying to him that he must remember certain things about God Himself. They are truths about God which Elihu would have Job to remember, which would really help him if he would receive them and believe them. They are truths which we ourselves must remember as well if we would stand and not falter in the evil day. 1st of all – God is mighty but despises no one. (verses 5 & 6) 2nd – God does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous. (verses 7-9) And 3rd – God opens the ear of the believer to instruction, so that they will turn from their iniquity and prosper all of their days.
