Theme: People must make sure they personally enter the kingdom of God while they have the chance. In vv. 22-23, someone asks a question about salvation. In vv. 24-30, Jesus gives an answer and exhortation. We need to be concerned about our own souls and be discerning about true salvation. He then gives seven truths: Know that salvation is not shallow v. 24, it is exclusive in access v. 24, void of second chances vv. 24-25, results in a changed life vv. 26-27, involves real places (God's kingdom and hell) v. 28, diverse outwardly yet similar inwardly v. 29, and will succeed vv. 29-30. The purpose of this passage is to urge people to enter the kingdom of God while they have a chance. Today, look to Christ and live!
