The Knowledge of God is not comprehensive, but it is sufficient. The Holy Scripture is the only sufficient rule for saving knowledge, faith, and obedience. When we realize how much we do not know about God, that is a good thing. What God has made known to us is sufficient, even though it is not exhaustive. God is unsearchably great. God is unbounded, immeasurable, and immense. These are synonymous terms. Underneath these things we have God's infinity related to time, which is called eternity and God's infinity related to space which is immensity. We are not going to define these things because the finite cannot comprehend the infinite. The 1689 Confession Chapter 1, Paragraph 1 says this. "The Holy Scripture is the only sufficient rule for saving knowledge, for saving faith, and for obedience. As we look into the attributes of God, and we must realize that there is much we do not know. Our goal is to see how little we know about God. And in seeing how much we do not know about God; we will know God better.
