Paul testified that God had provided all his needs. The promises of God are immense and immutable. Abraham doubted and Sarah laughed, but the promised son was born. Men because of their circumstances are forced to eat their words, but God never has to eat his words. God's promises are absolutely sure and certain. When we consider the number and nature of God's promise, our future is exceedingly bright. We need to claim God's promises. This evening, we want to draw your attention to this great promise spoken by the apostle Paul
1. the material supply Through these Philippian believers, God had met the physical needs of Paul (4:18). God provides for our bodies as for his soul. God not only commands his servants, but he cares for his servants. The God who sends you is able to supply you. Have you learned to trust in Him? He is able to supply your physical needs. Paul's weakness had also been supplied (4:13). He gives strength and skill to do the things he calls them to do. If you wait upon God, he will infuse his strength. He will give you the power. He will give you the skills. Paul's wounds had been supplied (4:14). God works the pressures of life into our eternal good and His eternal glory.
2. the measured supply Paul abounded (4:18). There is a richness here in God's supply. He supplies "all"! God can give liberally. He fills our cup till it runs over. God's giving is perpetual and plentiful. There is a restriction. He supplies need, not wants. There was a regularity in his giving (4:16). He keeps giving.
3. the men supplied The men who supplied Paul and were supplied by God were a providing people, a prayerful people and a pure people.
