Jesus Christ unites people and Satan divides them. But then there is also the sense in which Christ divides people and Satan unites them. Christ unites people under the banner of truth, love, and righteousness, while Satan unites people under the banner of hatred toward these same things. In order to do this the devil uses a self-serving kind of love and compassion toward others, backed up by throbbing, thunderous music, and large numbers of people gathered together. They are unified in spirit, but it is a spirit which is always in conflict with the righteous and holy God of the Scriptures. This is what empowers the gods of sports, entertainment, worldly sensual music, and every other kind of worldly organization that seeks to bring people together outside the moral authority of God, including modern contemporary worship. It is worship alright, but it is not directed toward a holy God and there is nothing pure or righteous or true about it. The worship you observe in "America's Got Talent" is the same spirit of worship that you see in contemporary churches.
