Theme: Followers of Jesus should not be anxious about the temporal things of this life but rather should set their hearts on God, who is our treasure, and His kingdom, which is forever. In v. 25-26, Jesus gives His view on anxiety by asking a question and then answering it. He shows that anxiety accomplishes nothing. In vv. 27-28, Jesus repeats the surety of God's provision with an example from the lilies and grass. We receive encouragement when we think on God's provision to others. In vv. 29-31, Jesus redirects our worry. Instead of seeking after our necessities and worrying about them, we need to seek God's kingdom and spiritual growth. How are you dealing with anxiety? Is your hope in the Lord or are you seeking relief outside of Jesus's teaching? Trust Christ and follow Him. He is faithful!
