Theme: Followers of Jesus should not be anxious about the temporal things of life but rather should set their hearts on God, who is our treasure, and His kingdom, which is forever. In v. 22, Jesus gives a command about anxiety. He commands His disciples to stop worrying about temporal needs. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us not to worry but to pray. In v. 23, Jesus gives His perspective of life. Life is about knowing God and walking in His ways. We need to make sure we have the proper perspective of life. In v. 24, Jesus teaches about God's provision. He uses the example of unclean birds and how God provides even for them. It is important for us to meditate on the character of God. He is faithful, unchanging, giving. Whatever your needs are, the Lord is with you, and He cares! What are your worries? What do you need to give over and pray to the Lord over? You are worth more than birds and He feeds them--He'll care for you.
