The only way to receive what Christ has for us is to be united to him by faith. We are in Christ. The doctrine of union with Christ is why the Christian is dead to the law. We were united to Christ in his crucifixion. As far as God is concerned, we were really and truly nailed to the cross with Christ. As a result, the true Christian enjoys a new identity, a noble purpose and a magnificent destiny!
