Since God is all good and all powerful, it is wise to place our faith and trust in Him as we stand before the fire. The fire represents the trials and troubles of this life. Those in power make an image of man into a god and compel all to accept it. The image is a misrepresentation of God. The powerful project and promote a conception of god to people through government, academia and media. It is like the Wizard of Oz. The wizard was no wizard, just the image of a wizard controlled by some man behind a curtain. The image represents a false god. Totalitarian states have continued to operate on the same basis throughout history. In the futility of human thinking, God is remade into a human or created image. Those in Christ stand out, and are singled out and pressured to conform. The brighter the Christian shines in this dark world, the more likely that he is a target. But the One who is faithful rescues his faithful ones through the fire!
