THE BIBLE'S STORY: The Flood Pt. 4 1 ¶ Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided. 2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained. 3 And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased. 4 Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen. Genesis 8:1-5
This Lord's Day Pastor Randy continues a Reformation Day series on The Basics of Bible History, or THE BIBLE'S STORY, a survey of the major events that shape our understanding of the Scriptures and our place in the the world in which we live!
As we continue studying the Flood we see not only the destruction of all that was… but also the preservation of life on pretty much every level. God's creation, the Fall, and the Flood shape how we see ourselves and everything in the world. Despite all the bad, we see God is still at work. He sets apart a remnant for Himself and the future He has planned. If we're connected to God and His grace, then we are by grace a part of that future.
