I want to review with you today what God says about the nation Israel, it's place in God's program; what God says about the church and the place of the church in His program. Everything in the Bible revolves around God's dealings with two groups of people: the nation Israel and the church. The only exception is the first 11 chapters of Genesis. It's necessary for us to understand this because we as believers bemoan the fact that the world is divided and you have different nations, different languages, different races and we say we all ought to be able to get together. It is not God's plan and purpose that we all get together. It is not His plan and intention that there be one world unified until Jesus Christ comes to rule that world. And that is why you have the on-going conflict between the nations, between the races, between the peoples of the world.

“ Great Sermon! ” As a Jewish believe I agree 100% with Pastor Gil in that from Genesis 12 to Acts 1 God is focused on Israel, then from Acts 2 until nearly the end of the book of Revelations God is focused on the Church. No way does the Church replace Israel.
However there were many Gentiles that converted to Judaism when God was focused on Israel and a fair number of Jews, like myself, have come to Christ in the past 2000 years when God while God has been focused on the Church. All comes together at the end. Evidence of this can be found in Revelation 21 vs 12-14. Blessings, Keith

“ The Sermon isn't all about Israel ” May, I suggest, Brad, if you get the opportunity to listen to the entire sermon, which is really a good summary of the Book of Revelation as well, and notice that the Church has great prominence in it. Now it is in the second part this nearly hour-long sermon.
Please notice that during the Church Age NOT ONE Jew is saved! Not One! Now there are Jews who are saved when they become Christians, and this is the only way anyone can be saved during the Church Age.
Gil vigorously defends the local church against the family first types, individualists, and the mystics. Now if you are a supercessionist, "What is Replacement Theology?"

then you may have some problems with the sermon. However, as Gil mentioned even if one is pro-Israel doesn't mean you're a Christian. I don't see anywhere in the sermon that the Church is de-emphasized, and a good history of its beginning is given just as they are for the nation Israel.

“ Good history of Israel, but... ” Gil Rugh is certainly an accomplished speaker, but he characterizes the dominant Zionist Christian idea that the current people of occupied Palestine comprise "God's Chosen People." It seems, as a result, that Gil would have the spriritualized Church fall on its sword in favor of a physical Israel. Because of his assumption that a physical, current Israel will yet come into a prophetic destiny, God's Church as appear only as a passive backdrop in his pre-millenial conviction.
