I am reading from an Article titled: Many Boomers Still Find Church Irrelevant. This is from a survey done in the Presbyterian Church but the researchers believe that the results there would be true of other liberal, Protestant denominations as well. Many in the baby boomer generation are ndifferent to churches that do not stand out from the surrounding culture. It's reflective of a kind of relativism. This is what I believe, but everybody has their own beliefs and that's fine as long as you don't impose them upon anyone else. But the church faces a more daunting task in the long run and that is to develop a theology that is compelling enough to persuade people to belong but open enough to meet the non-dogmatic demands of modern culture.
