Paul is going to remind the Corinthians of the uniqueness of their God and their relationship to Him. He will also make the point that the believer's relationship to Him will then have a direct impact on relationships with one another.
Another matter he addresses is the fact that 'knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies.' Such becomes a warning for all believers who have knowledge and place great emphasis on growing in knowledge of God's word (and rightly so) - and yet the one with knowledge must possess it, and use it, with love that will then serve to build up others. Without love in its application and practice, knowledge - even of God's word - will not be put to its proper use, and will serve little good but to build up the pride of its possessor. Believers who love and are growing in the knowledge of God, and about God, must constantly be monitoring their use of this knowledge and how it is being manifest to others.
