Jesus says that people can interpret the weather but not the present time. We hear a weather forecast and plan our day accordingly. If we hear that the Son of God has come, bringing salvation to all who believe, but judgment to all who ignore the message, shouldn't we respond by immediately embracing Him? The Son of Man is standing in our midst, but people miss it. They can read the signs of the weather, but the things that matter, ultimately and eternally, they are not able to understand. People blindly ignore the gravity of their circumstances, and are totally absorbed in carnal security. They are in a crisis, but they are indifferent to it! How tragic it is to be shrewd and prudent in temporal affairs but totally ignore your own everlasting spiritual welfare.
