Our Lord taught that we should not be anxious about tomorrow, but He did not teach that we should ignore tomorrow! In fact, Jesus taught that our view of the future ought to be uppermost in our thinking about how we should live today. Martin Luther wisely said that he had only two days on his calendar. This day and that day. He wanted to live this day for that day. Jesus is coming again. As followers of Jesus Christ, we should think often about the fact that He is coming soon and that every person must stand before Him to give an account. We should view ourselves as trustees who have been entrusted with time, talents and treasure, which we are to use for our Master's kingdom. God grant that we have a fresh start in our watching and waiting! May all our sin and brokenness in this area be kissed away by His grace.
