It is wonderful to hear about the great revivals of the past. Acts records how thousands were converted in the early days of the church. I have enjoyed reading about the Great Awakening in which Whitefield preached to thousands in the open air and about the past revivals in Wales. Believers were revitalized, thousands were converted, and entire communities were transformed.
Perhaps there is no greater revival in history than that which occurred when Jonah preached to the sinners in Nineveh. One of the great cities of the world turned from their sin and the LORD turned away His wrath.
Some like to study past revivals in order to learn techniques to be applied in future revivals.
- What do you think about Jonah’s methodology? Why did it work? - What can we learn about revival from Jonah chapter 3?
