1. The transgression (rejection of Christ and the gospel) by the Jews has led to the justification of the Gentiles. 2. The salvation of the Gentiles will cause the Jews to envy. 3. This envy will lead the Jews to the same salvation as the Gentiles (see Romans 10:19 and Deuteronomy 32:21)

D. Some Initial Observations
1. We have witnessed the falling away of Israel as a people group from the time of Christ, on to 70 A.D. and continuing to this very day.
2. There is no specific time in history that we can point back to and say that the Gentiles have been especially blessed by a Jewish 'fullness'.
3. Therefore, God may have a significant saving plan for the Jews in the future.
4. We need to be careful as we interpret this passage and keep in mind the possible nearness of Christ's return.
