Women are more likely than men to have a deep, life-sustaining faith. But while many far out-distance men in their commitment to Christ, many struggle with disillusionment and discouragement. Their faith is waning. They have stepped out in faith in the past, left their comfort zones, took God at His Word, only to be disappointed by God. Their expectations have not been met. They've not experienced God's blessing. And so in the process of living by faith, their faith has been poisoned or damaged. It is harder for them to trust God. In this sermon, we explore faith from a woman's perspective by looking at two Old Testament women of faith. One is an older believer whose faith has been bruised severely by life's harsh experiences; the other, a new convert who is starting her faith journey. And we will see how God uses the faith of the new convert to restore the confidence of the one whose faith is waning. Their journey is recorded in the book of Ruth.
