Faith hears and receives and rejoices and obeys and honors and celebrates the news it sees and agrees with from God. This allows the news to be profitable and good and alive and able and active in those who trust God and His news.
You take the personal connection away... you take the profit away. And the living, powerful and sharp word of God becomes dead, powerless and dull to the faithless. Remember this: God's redeeming and guiding grace ONLY responds to faith. Rest is found in God's grace... and God's redeeming and guiding grace ONLY responds to faith.
