Theme: Believers in Christ should seek to eradicate pride from their lives and aspire to serve the Lord Jesus from their heart! In v. 24, we see the disciples' dispute. In application, we need to recognize the depth of pride in our hearts. In vv. 25-27, we see the Savior's solution. Jesus teaches them true greatness is found in being a servant, which He has taught them by His example. We learn from this to seek to humbly serve Christ in all we do. In vv. 28-29, we see the Heavenly Hesed. Despite their pride and misunderstanding of His Kingdom, Jesus blesses them. We should marvel at Jesus' kindness and emulate it. We also see that in Christ we already have everything, and from that fullness, we are free to love and serve others lavishly as Jesus does. Let us turn our eyes to Jesus, rest in all the blessings we have as His fellow heirs, and seek to love and serve others with a heart of love and devotion to Christ!
