We come this Easter morning to celebrate the resurrection of the Son of God. He was dead, killed by a Roman cross — but He is alive again, seated at the Father's right hand and reigning there forever and ever, never to die again. Death has no more dominion over Him! Hallelujah! Today I want to take it further, though. Death has no more dominion over Christ. Praise God — and change how you live too, because death has no more dominion over you either. Brothers and sisters, we live in a safe world, indeed, a safety-obsessed world. The mantra of the modern world is "If you can't be good you can at least be careful." We're going to talk about some of the manifestations of safetyism as an ideology. But my main points today are these : Christ delivers you not only from death, but from the fear of death — and He leads you in worship too. Congregational worship and deliverance from the fear of death: these are two tremendous blessings lavished upon you through your Savior's resurrection.
