Theme: In response to God's sovereign grace and mercy, believers should lives that reflect godliness in our actions and attitudes and seek to maintain unity in the church. Ephesians chapter 1 admonishes us to let rich doctrine result in monumental praise (vv. 6, 12, 14). In chapter 2, Paul encourages us as believers to remember where we came from (vv. 11-13). In chapter 3, he models how to pray for your fellow heirs for spiritual strength (vv. 14-16), and in chapter 4, he urges believers to walk in unity and godliness (vv.1-3). In chapter 5, he tells Christians to model God in their conduct and relationships (v. 1), and in chapter 6, to find their strength in the Lord (v. 10). The letter to the Ephesians is an extremely rich doctrinal yet practical book. The practicality flows from the doctrine. In it we see the glory of salvation, the unity believers are to strive for, and the way God desires we live - holy and blameless.
