Theme: Live what you believe now by being ready for the coming Kingdom. In vv. 22-24, Jesus teaches about His return. When Christ returns, everyone will know it, and we can be certain no one will escape His return. For the believer, this brings comfort, but for the one in rebellion to Christ, it brings judgment. In. v. 25, Jesus prepares His disciples first. He explains He must first suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. In application, we must be content with being rejected too. In vv. 26-30, Jesus teaches about not listening to the warnings, using the examples of people in the days of Noah and Lot. We can learn from these examples the importance of not being consumed with the ordinary but instead taking heed to the warning of Jesus and living our lives now for His Kingdom.
