Jesus Christ is our great trailblazer! He is the Captain of Our Salvation. As such, He is the author, the source. The whole plan of salvation devised by God was 'fitting' for God, that is, it was consistent with His character. The plan that 'fit the Father' was to make the 'captain of our salvation perfect through suffering.' 'Making perfect' does not mean that Jesus Christ was flawed, but rather completing the course, finishing the work. He had to learn experientially what it means to obey His Father in difficult circumstances. He endures the suffering on the cross so to 'bring many sons to glory.' Jesus Christ is also our Sanctifier, that is, He is the One who makes it possible for you and I as sinful people to be right with God, to be made holy. Together we make up His family, and He is not ashamed to call us 'His brothers!'
