While the believer has the responsibility to exercise their will to follow and submit to the Spirit, their will be an increasing desire that yields to God's will and denies the will of the old nature to satisfy sin. Living the Christian life will be energized by an increasing love for what and who God loves and a hate for all that God hates. The evidence of being a genuine Christian will be the fruit of faith in Jesus Christ that saves and sanctifies those who have been given the free gift of eternal life.
