Theme: Those who trust the resurrected Savior should live lives filled with worship and joy to Christ alone. In vv. 50-51, Jesus blesses the disciples and then ascends into Heaven. In application, we should be bold and selfless in serving Christ, just as His first disciples were. In vv. 52-53, the disciples respond in worship of Jesus and return to Jerusalem. They continually bless God in the temple. In application, we need to be careful who/what we worship. There are many temptations to seek to find our ultimate joy outside of God. When we don't worship Jesus with our lives, it is because of this: we don't fully grasp who He truly is. Our view of Jesus is far too small. Let us truly worship Him as the disciples did and live out our lives in love and service to Him.
