The challenge for us as the people of God who have believed in the salvation of God is to live our lives day by day in a manner consistent with the holy character that God has produced in us. There is much being promoted today that emphasizes the idea that any restrictions you put on a person improperly and unfairly limits their freedom. Now it is is true that if you put a restriction down, you have limited freedom, but that is not always bad. But the move and pressure is constantly on less restrictions and a more uncontrolled behavior till we cross the line and society becomes unlivable. And then we swing back and put more restrictions on. Now some people carry that over into their Christian life and say, 'I've been set free from sin. I am no longer under law. The law revealed me to be a sinner. The law condemned me, but I have been set free from law. Therefore, I am free to do as I please. Paul says such a thought is totally repulsive.
