Glory be, I sure enjoyed this sunrise today and our time with our Chapel family this past Sunday. May the Lord continue to give each of us a sound mind and the right kind of hope, joy, growing faith, and His irreplaceable peace.
"Mark the blameless, and watch the upright, for the future of that servant is peace… The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. The Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the hand of that wicked one because they trust in Him." (Psalm 37:37-40)
The Wrong and Right Kind of Hope
In our bible study, we consider some of the characters in Genesis in light of Job 27:8 — "For what is the hope of the hypocrites (those living without God), though they gain much (even the whole world) if God takes away their life?"
I imagine most of you, that personally know and trust the Lord, have asked this question before. "How do people cope or handle the challenges of everyday life without the presence and patience of the Father of mercies and the God of all grace?"
Isaiah and Proverbs unveil to us, on several levels, how they can and why they do (Isaiah 57:10; Proverbs 16:25; 14:12). When people are blinded to their own blindness, warped in their own knowledge and wisdom and encouraged and strengthened in their own lies and deception, by the culture they live among... falsehood just "seems" right and truth will inevitably "seem" wrong. Therefore, they find LIFE and PEACE in their own hopes and dreams.
