In this chapter Jacob gets the call from God to return to the Land of His fathers. But also, Laban and his sons have turned against Jacob because of God's favor on his life. He's increased in two areas, wealth and family. And so Jacob obeys God's word to return to the Land he's from in obedience. I contrast Jacobs obedience to God in vs 1-21, and contrast that to God's protection in vs 22-55. The truth is we can see both aspects throughout the chapter.
