God's purposes, plans, and methodology have not changed since the beginning of the Church.
The concern is often voiced that there is a need for the Church to relate to the culture for it to be relevant and effective. From the human perspective the surrounding environment and culture can seem to require an adjustment. However when the Scriptures are considered that is proven to not be true. Man's condition, man's needs, and God Himself are unchanged. That being so, God will continue to save sinners the same way today as He has since the Church began at Pentecost.
Now, as then, when the pure Gospel message is proclaimed the power of God for salvation is unleashed to save sinners in every and all cultures. When the unaltered and unadulterated Gospel goes forth the Spirit of God works to accomplish His purposes.
Those who respond in belief in what they have heard, are born again. They are then to join together with other believers, having a single-minded focus to study the word of God, to fellowship together, to share in the communion service, and to pray. With such activity the Church of Jesus Christ today is necessarily occupied if it is to be found faithful.
