GENESIS 3 Summary: We read that the first Woman, Eve, is beguiled or deceived by the serpent, the Devil, and so she eats the forbidden fruit. Then she tempts Adam, her husband to do the same. So both fall into sin. (1-6) They then become alarmed as they see their nakedness and are ashamed and try in vain to cover themselves with leaves. But God calls and convicts them. (7-13) Then God gives a sentence of judgement against both them and the serpent, and in it God gives the gracious promise of a Redeemer. (14-19) Then God clothes them, and yet expels them from Eden. (20-24)
Devotional: (1) What is sin? (2) Are God's commands good or bad for us? (3) In what ways is Satan twisting the commands of God today? How should you respond to anyone who questions God's Word? (4) What do you spend time thinking about, watching and listening to? Are they good and godly things? (5) Who seeks sinners? (6) Why was it necessary for a Redeemer to come? Do you see that the promised Redeemer is the Lord Jesus Christ, who came to suffer and die for our sins? Have you repented and believed the gracious promise of salvation in the gospel?
