Theme: God is sovereign and man is responsible to believe the good news of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection of which all Scripture testifies. In vv. 13-24, we read of Jesus' conversation with the disciples. In vv. 25-27, we see Jesus' rebuke and teaching with the disciples, and in vv. 28-32, Jesus sits down to a meal with them. The disciples didn't want Him to leave, but implored Him to stay with them. In application, we should enjoy the presence of Jesus and recognize His supreme excellence. In vv. 33-35, the disciples testify of Jesus' resurrection. It is crucial that we remember the resurrection of Jesus and all the implications it has for us as believers!
