In the broadest sense the work of the father was the entire plan of redemption. Here specifically it is the harvest of people brought into the kingdom of God. The work of the reaper is to go wherever there is a harvest. We need at least two things if we are to be "God's fellow workers". The first is the love and compassion of Christ and second the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit. We must seek the Lord of the harvest that he would prepare us, send us and grant that our lives would bear fruit that will remain for all eternity.
