I. The Abrahamic Covenant Examined – Genesis chapters 15 and 17
1. The Covenant before Circumcision -- Genesis 15 v. 6 is the key verse. 2. The Covenant Sealed with Circumcision -- Gen. 17 Gal. 3:6-9; 3:16; 3:26-29 – Christians are the true seed of Abraham
II. Paul Examines the Abrahamic Covenant -- Romans 3:27-31 Here Paul introduces 3 questions, which he gives short answers for, then he expands and expounds on those answers in chapter 4.
1. Where is boasting? V. 27 Answered also in Romans 4:1-8 2. Is He the God of the Jews only? V. 29 See also Romans 4:9-12 3. Does faith make the Law null and void? V. 31 See also Romans 4:13-15
III. The Covenant Promises from Abraham to Moses With Jacob, everything changed -- Gen. 28:13-15
IV. The Mosaic Covenant
1. The priority of faith over law -- Romans 4:16-22 2. All this was written for our benefit -- Romans 4:23-5:2
We need to remember the Mosaic Covenant is more than LAW. Exodus 6:1-8 So, in reality, the Mosaic Covenant is just a further revelation of God's Covenant of Grace that was clearly shown to Abraham – and the appeal to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is very familiar O.T. language.

A Blessing Thank you, Pastor Marquedant, for this series on Covenants -- God's dealings with fallen and sinful man to bring about His plan of salvation in the Messiah, Jesus Christ, for His glory and our everlasting redemption. Hallelujah. The emphasis on God's absolute sovereignty is much appreciated in that His plan is not subject to human decision.

What A Blessing I love this series on God's covenants. The sermons are excellent, that's really an understatement. The beauty of God's love expressed in His covenants is breathtaking, there is so much more to God's covenants than, I think, many people realize. How very awesome is our God. I was really blessing by the simple overview of covenant theology too.
