In v. 1, Jesus gives instruction to his disciples about temptation. We need to humbly submit to Christ's teachings and be suspicious of nuanced theology and teachings, being careful not to fall into them and to not share them with others. In v. 2, Jesus explains how seriously we should take the responsibility of our influence on those around us. In v. 3, Jesus commands His followers to "Pay attention to yourselves!". We need to evaluate our walk before God and others and make sure in doctrine and example we are influencing others to follow God's truth found in Scripture.
