After referencing the appearing of Christ, which will take place at the proper time, Paul breaks into doxology, praising Christ for His marvelous attributes. Christ is the only sovereign. He is sovereign above all sovereigns. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. He is immortal. Though angels and men are also immortal -- the former never die and the latter have never-ending souls -- Christ, being divine, is the only one who possesses immortality by nature. Christ dwells in unapproachable light. That is, He is holy. To be holy, is to be alone, where no one can enter. But by the grace of God, Christ became flesh and dwelt among us, drawing near to us. By the shed blood of Christ,m believers have been brought us into the holy of holies, into the unapproachable light. This Christ-exalting benediction is a short summary of the expanded theme of the saints in Revelation 4-5. Those who dwell in heaven love to sing the praises of Christ. They are fully Christ-centered. Those who are on their way to heaven are likewise Christ-centered. Not to the same degree as those in heaven who are fully sanctified and freed from the presence of sin. But though believers do have the same degree of love and admiration for Christ, they nevertheless have it in a lesser degree.
