Everything about the incarnation of Jesus Christ screams humility. Bethlehem -- too little to be of the tribes of Judah. Joseph and Mary -- poor no-names. A long trip from Nazareth to Bethlehem. No room at the hotel. No midwife. No doctor. No nurses. No fanfare. No banners or parades. But most of all was the fact that the eternal infinite Son of God became man. Scripture says very unflattering things about man. And yet Christ became a man. He came in the "likeness of sinful flesh" -- not sinful Himself but clothed with the same flesh that is hard to think of in any other way than sinful. The humility of Christ is inexpressible and worthy of our adoration.
