Salvation for Jew and Gentile alike requires submission to Jesus Christ as the Sovereign over all of life. Before salvation every person creates and designates their own god as suits their own will. When God takes His position of authority in the believer's life there is a change of will. The pursuit and priority of the believer now centers on obedience to God's will and living under His authority.
To call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is to seek Him alone as the means to meet all that God demands for salvation from sin. What begins as a work in the heart when the Gospel is heard and believed is followed by a confession of that belief with the mouth. The confession of belief in the resurrection speaks of Christ's finished work of salvation by His death on the cross and the satisfaction of God's payment for sin, by His being raised from the dead. The conduct of life subsequent to the confession of the mouth bears evidence to the genuineness of the belief in the heart.
Without partiality, all who call upon the name of Jesus as their only hope are promised overflowing spiritual riches. These riches of salvation will endure for all eternity.
