In this Psalm we are taken up with the sufferings of Christ, He being our sin-bearer; endured the agony of the Cross for those who would believe upon Him. He was vindicated by His resurrection from the dead.
The Son of God reveals the Father to His people, and appeals to us from His glorious victory over sin and death. We are encouraged to ‘fear' the Lord. The Spirit of God having convicted us of our sin on the basis of Christ's victory we learn that by ‘paying His vows' Christ has provided that those who come to Him in repentance and faith will know forgiveness and be numbered among the people of God.
God the Father is indeed satisfied with His Son and now the victory of Christ over sin is to be published to all nations. Everywhere, to the ends of the earth, every tribe and every tongue are to hear what blessings the sufferings and death of Christ has achieved for his people.
We who are saved are indeed a testimony to His victory, may those who are called to serve Him recount such news to all generations.
