Now remember, Jesus had a cup, and He willingly drank that cup on our behalf and all that came in it. In His cup was the judgment of all the sins that He would graciously pay with His own lifeblood upon the cross of Calvary. Why? Because everybody is gonna drink from a cup. Either Jesus drank from the cup for you, or you gonna have to drink from a cup of God's judgment. And you don't want to drink from the cup of wrath that hadn't been drank and covered by Jesus. Now, here's the thing. If Jesus drank your cup you'll drink from that same cup of exclusivity. His exclusive message will be your exclusive message. You will be immersed in His mission, ministry, and message.
Let's talk about His satisfying work of grace.
John said:
"And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world." 1 John 2:2
What does this mean?
Who needs to be propitiated? God! God's wrath must be satisfied. Our rebellion has provoked and aroused His wrath.
Who provides the propitiation? God, who promises and provides — Grace — He gave us His Son
Who is the propitiation? God! Jesus satisfied the wrath and justice of God.
God satisfying God… God propitiates God.
