Turning away from Jesus Christ is turning away from the only sacrifice God will accept for sin. Turning way from Jesus Christ, no matter which direction, to what or to whom someone is drawn, is turning back on to the broad road to hell. All ways of life or objects of faith other than Jesus Christ result in willfully choosing to accept and endure judgement in hell for all eternity. An individual's choice made in the face of the free offer of eternal life and complete forgiveness of sin upon confession of sin and turning by faith to trust in Christ's sacrifice as sufficient to make full payment to God makes willful unbelief and the choice all the more dreadful and the result all the more deserved. So warns God in His Word.
