In this passage we consider three points: 1) How we as Christians are to work for the glory of God, obeying our boss or employer and submitting in every way we can in order to bring honor, not reproach, on God's name and the doctrine of the Bible. 2) When Christians work for other Christians, they should serve "all the more" because the beneficiary is a brother or sister in Christ. 3) The passage speaks to slaves obeying their masters on earth. What do we make of slavery in the Bible? Why doesn't Paul, or any other author, condemn slavery outright? Why no time devoted to the evils of slavery and to abolition? Is God OK with slavery? These questions and others will be addressed.
