We're at Genesis 34 and 35 because Saul killed the Gibeonites. I know. That probably makes no sense at all to those of you who are new to Cliffside. And to make matters worse, our pastor tells us that everything that happened at Golgotha has something to do with killing Gibeonites. I can give you a hint: The seven sayings of Christ on the cross are a salvation by grace sermon, and the Gibeonites understood, more than anybody, salvation by grace. Now there's a lot more to this part of the lecture than I'm telling you, and at this point it's actually a very good idea to stop reading this and press play.
Okay... we've weeded out a few of you so far, and hopefully we've piqued the interest of a lot of you. If you like to read some of the really cool things this pastor says in the lecture, I will try and provide that below.
“Can't get any more seeker sensitive than a sermon on circumcision.” “Even if you're wrong, you have to pull the gun out and fire.” “Moses says, you can find the Christ by comparing me to Him.” Regarding God's Word he says, “Don't be dismayed if this seems overwhelming. It's supposed to be overwhelming. If it wasn't overwhelming, what would the problem be? The problem would be that He didn't write it then.”
Alright, if any of these excite you, then you're one of those who have to press play. For all the rest of you, pressing play is optional.
Thanks for listening. If this pastor's teaching is by any chance valuable to you, and you have the means and the inclination, supporting this ministry is not something that would be a bad thing. Just sayin'.
