Timothy, as a young minister, is commanded to be faithful to the call of God. Paul charges Timothy in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus to keep the faith by living in obedience to the Word of God. Timothy is to do so with an eye on the Second Advent of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The eager expectation of the imminent return of our Lord should cause him to invest all he has in being found faithful. This is the call to all ministers and consequently to all Christians. As the minister leads a holy and consecrated life, he becomes an example to the brethren of what is possible when a people love the Lord completely and love His people genuinely. May God bless your careful attention to this sermon.
