The turmoil in the world, the suffering, and the death are the result of Satan's influence. He is the god of this world. Satan's campaign of misery and war against God is his attempt to lead humanity into the eternal flames of hell with him. His mission is to inflict the greatest amount of pain on God by destroying as many souls as possible. Being cast out of heaven for good signals the ultimate end of Satan. The ending of Satan's reign on earth begins at the beginning of the last half of the tribulation in heaven, then ends with Armageddon, and wraps up with ultimate finality with the battle against Gog described in Revelation 20:8. Why is Satan allowed to continue in heaven and to rule on earth as its god? It shows humanity that evil cannot be destroyed without God.
