Some of my fondest childhood memories revolve around the celebration of Christmas. I could hardly wait to unwrap the brightly colored, beautifully wrapped presents that were under the tree, wondering which ones were for me. Today, it feels like Christmas in October for the spiritual gifts are neatly wrapped waiting to be unwrapped. What are the gifts of the Spirit? How many are there? In this sermon we will do a quick survey of all of the gifts mentioned in the New Testament, unwrapping them quickly and compiling a list of all mentioned gifts. What are the gifts and then How do I know which ones are for me? As I close I will share five steps on how to practically discover your giftedness: 1) Explore the possibilities; 2) Experiment with as many as you can; 3) Examine your feelings and desires; 4) Evaluate your effectiveness; and 5) Expect confirmation from others. God has given to every believer in Christ at least one spiritual gift to be used for ministry, for building up the body of Christ, for encouraging others. We need to unwrap our Spiritual Gifts for it is Christmas in October!
