It takes the work of the entire Godhead to save a sinner. In order for a sinner to be saved the Father must elect that sinner unto salvation, the Son must purchase the salvation of that sinner with His blood, and the Holy Spirit must apply that salvation in the new birth. The work of one is not more important than another. The work of each is vital. If you try to take away the work of the Father in election, the work of the Son in redemption, or the work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration, you have no salvation at all.
Casting All Your Care Upon Him
Believer, do you have any burdens, worries, anxieties, concerns or fears? If you’re reading these words you do. We may try to convince ourselves or others that we are so spiritually stable, faithful, and grounded that we are beyond the reach of these plagues of the old man. But to you who have been made honest and willingly admit the battle that rages within, remember these words of comfort, “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you” (1Peter 5:7).

WHY THE ELECT LOVE ELECTION
The elect love election! That is a fact. When they were unregenerate they had no love for or understanding of election. But when God saves them they become lovers of this holy Truth. Here are two reasons why they love election. (1) Because they love the God of election. Election gives God all the glory in salvation, and that is the heart’s desire of every believer. (2) Election teaches that God’s salvation is all of grace, and that gives hope to helpless sinners. The elect know enough about their sin to know that if God did not choose them, they could not have possibly been saved. Election gives Christ all the glory in salvation and declares a salvation that is all of grace. That is why the elect love election. Thank God for election!

A WORD FITLY SPOKEN IN DUE SEASON
My beloved and I engage in secret activity when I prepare to take a solo trip abroad. When I am away from the apartment, she inserts notes in various items in my suitcase. When she is away from the apartment, I insert notes in various items in the apartment –a kitchen canister, her pillowcase, her shoe, and so forth.
When I am away from her, I may find her notes in a shirt pocket, in my toiletry case, or some other item from my suitcase. The note may read “I love you” or “I miss you” or “You are dear to me” or some other such expression of her affection.
Her notes to me are short, but their effect is great. They brighten a lonely moment. They remind me of what a blessing she is to me.
Then they are saved.
Yes, I have been saving these notes for years! And their effect when I come across them now is like it was the first time I read them.
Her notes also remind me that the wise man Solomon spoke truth when he said “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver” and “a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” (Proverbs 25:11 & 15:23). A simple word or short note, or a telephone call to a friend with whom you have not spoken for a long time, can be a very good and beautiful thing! And such a good and beautiful thing is always in season. O may we often prove this to be true!
